The suggestion by President Jacob Zuma to discourage a national debate on racism is a stark contrast to the spirit of the people of this country when, in 2001, the South African government hosted a week-long world conference against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.
The most serious problem facing SA today is, arguably, our fractured education system.
Let’s debate class, not race. Julius Malema wants to debate race, narrowly focused on government deployment. This is nothing but a tactic to try to create space for his comrades. It’s not like government is overcrowded with white politicians.
